It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Life Active Member David William Bender. David dedicated 47 years of service to the Verplanck Fire Protective Association, having joined the department in August 1979. Throughout his years of service, he faithfully served as the Association's Treasurer for many years and was also a dedicated EMT and firefighter. His commitment, leadership, and unwavering service to our department and community will never be forgotten. Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Shrub Oak Methodist Church Cemetery.
