At approximately 9:44PM the Verplanck FD was dispatched to Coachlight Square for a reported structure fire. First on scene was Car 2492 who found heavy fire pushing out of the rear of the unit and reporting a working fire. Car 2491 would arrive on scene seconds later establishing command. Shortly after Tower Ladder 46 and Engine 128 arrived. After search teams completed their search of the original unit, a hose line team started to attack the fire from inside the unit while the initial vent team was sent to the roof to cut a vent hole. Once the vent team made there way to the roof they found heavy fire starting to push its way out from the roof of the neighboring unit. It was decided then that it was unsafe to continue their operation and vacated the roof to the bucket of their ladder while the remaining units started to catch fire . Car 2492 on the update to camand reported the neighboring units roof is starting to come down. Command then decided to evacuate all personnel for all units. Within minutes of the initial evacuation the neighboring unit roof had slowly started to collapse. After having to evacuate 2 more times operations turned to exterior only. All units. operated from 9:44pm-2:30AM ending in a 3rd alarm.
