The Verplanck Fire Department is a volunteer fire department and EMS agency located in Westchester County, NY. The department provides fire protection and Basic Life Support Emergency Medical Services to the hamlet of Verplanck within the Town of Cortlandt. The Verplanck Fire District also includes several commercial sites including the Indian Point Energy Center and the Continental Gypsum Plant located in the neighboring Village of Buchanan.

The Department answers approximately 265 alarms per year consisting of fire alarms, ambulance calls, auto accidents, boating incidents on the Hudson River, and other emergencies. We provide mutual aid to our neighboring departments of Montrose, Buchanan, Montrose FDVA, Croton, as well as the City of Peekskill.
