Oven Fire on August 21, 2021

At approximately 1:40 yesterday, we were dispatched to a reported oven fire on Lindsey Avenue. Upon arrival, Chief Roush observed heavy smoke pushing out of the front door and transmitted the "10-75" (Working Fire Assignment). A ladder from Montrose FD, an engine from Verplanck FD, the RITeam from the Montrose VA Hospital FD, and Cortlandt VAC responded. Multiple surrounding departments also relocated equipment into our area to cover the community.

A crew entered the house and determined there was an active fire in the oven (on self-clean mode) with a heavy smoke condition throughout the house. The oven was disconnected, removed from the structure, and the house was ventilated of smoke and Carbon Monoxide.

There were no injuries and homeowners were able to re-enter the house later that afternoon.

Car 2492, Engine 128, Utility 29 from Verplanck FD were on the assignment.
