At approximately 11:55 Saturday morning the Buchanan and Montrose fire departments were dispatched to the rear of the Buchanan Home Center for a large area brush fire. When units arrived on scene they reported at least one acre burning and spreading rapidly. Command requested UTV's from Montrose and Verplanck to the scene. Additional UTV's were requested as well as a brush truck from Continental Village FD. Utility 30 and Utility 29 responded. Units operated for well over two hours before returning in service.
