Life Saving Awards

Mutual Aid to Croton

Captain Michael Eichler, December 27

At approximately 2:50 AM this morning Sunday 12/27/20 Engine 128 was requested to relocate with Ladder 10 from Mohegan FD, to Croton FD station #3. Croton was operating at multiple trailers on fire at the Croton Harmon Yards. Units stood by for almost three hours, before being released.

Water Rescue in Cortlandt

VFD reporter , December 12

At approximately 04:20 hours Verplanck Marine Unit along with Continental Village and Yorktown Dive Team were requested to the area of the Bear Mtn. Bridge, for a possible water rescue. Units operated for almost two hours before returned into service.

Multiple departments from multiple counties were involved in this effort to locate the individual.

The Verplanck Fire Protective Association will be holding a Holiday Parade this year in lieu of our Annual Santa Run this year.
Starting at 12 P.M. on Sunday December 13th we will bring Santa Claus around the district to wave and spread some holiday cheer to our community.

Busy Morning for Verplanck’s Bravest

A little after 1AM Verplanck FD was requested with the Buchanan Engine Co. to stand by in our quarters for the Montrose FD. Montrose was operating at a smoke in the structure call in their district.
