The Verplanck Fire District will hold its Annual Budget Meeting on Wednesday October 22nd at 6:00 PM.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Commissioner and Past Captain Shawn O’Mara Sr.
Shawn was a dedicated and active member of the Verplanck Fire Protective Association, having joined the department in November of 1989. Throughout his many years of service, he held several leadership roles, most recently serving as Chairman of the Fire District Board and as Past Captain.

We are sadden to announce the passing of Life Member Linda G. Bender.

Linda was a member of the Verplank Fire Protective Association for over 50 years. She was an active part of the department serving as Financial Secretary.

We will deeply miss Linda Bender and her dedication to the Verplanck Fire Department.

Just after 1:00pm, our department along with Buchanan FD was dispatched to a reported basement fire on Lindsay Ave. Upon arrival of TL-46 Buchanan FD declared a 10-75 (a working structure fire) Units operated on scene for approximately three hours.
