(Body Substance Isolation)
You know it! Its Monday Night and that means it is Training Night! Tonight Training was based on EMS and was to help a few EMT-in-Training students with equipment overview and patient assessments. Tonight EMT-in-Training Amanda Wessells (who is wrapping up her EMT Class next month out of Phelps) held the helm of Crew Chief conducting Patient Assessment of the Trauma Patient with her direct assistant's Ian Barnes and Michael Eichler treating the patient LT Roberto Rosario (All 3 of the students above will also be enrolling into the next EMT Class by the end of the month in Peekskill.)
Also providing the touch of Friendly Patient Care are our 2 former EMT's Mary Murray and Morgan Davis who help put their experience and knowlege into helping Amanda with her assessment and patient packaging. Also on hand tonight was our Patient Proctor EMS LT Keith Martin speaking for our incoherent patient and the Scene Safety Officers LT Gabe Hayes and Asst Chief Thomas O'Brien. Overviewer George Ellgen
The patient was reported to be pinned under a vehicle with a broken femur. Amanda did an amazing head to toe assessment and everyone quickly picked up on the Femur and sprung into action a got the Traction Splint and package the patient and completed the patient assessment.
Teamwork always plays a great role when it comes to providing excellent Patient Care in a timely fashion.
Great Job All!
LT Gabe Hayes
Asst. Chief Tom O'Brien
