On Monday September 25, 2017 members attended their weekly Monday Night Drill, This week drill was on Auto Vehicle Extrication Training (AVET). With 10 members in attendance the members went over Tools, Stabilization, Airbags, Spring Loaded Bumpers, Entry Methods, EMS Operations, and Most Importantly Safety. During this drills member got to use the tools and try different methods of a hood pop, window entry, and door removal. The driver side and passenger side door were opened and removed which would allow greater patient access for removal. On the passenger side the crews used the hydraulic spreaders and cutters while the driver side crew used the hand tools and muscle work. The members were able to see how efficient the hydraulic tools can be but also remembering how to gain access with the hand tools for when murphy law applies. Over all the members were able to refresh them-self with extrication and on working as a team to accomplish the task at hand.
